FP Markets Group of Companies is a well-established globally regulated Australian broker offering traders access to CFDs across Forex, Indices, Commodities, Stocks and Cryptocurrencies. We are growing and looking to recruit a Full-Time Head of Mobile Development in our Cyprus office – a certified Great Place to Work®.

We are looking for a highly skilled and technically-driven Head of Mobile Development to lead the long-term strategy, architecture, and technical quality of our mobile products. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on engineering excellence, innovation, and scalable mobile architecture. You will work closely with product, design, and backend teams to deliver world-class mobile experiences using React Native for both iOS and Android platforms.

Reporting to: CTO

Responsibilities:

Mobile Architecture & Engineering Leadership

  • Own the technical vision and direction for mobile development across platforms (iOS & Android)
  • Act as the technical authority and architect: define architecture, coding standards, best practices, and tooling
  • Ensure mobile codebases are high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and performant
  • Design and build advanced mobile applications using React Native
  • Guide the team in solving complex engineering problems and provide hands-on coding support when needed

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, and other tech leads to align mobile strategy with product and tech goals
  • Represent mobile engineering in cross-team architecture discussions and technical forums

Mentorship & Team Support

  • Mentor developers and support their technical growth (without direct people management responsibilities)
  • Support the Mobile Team Lead in growing team maturity and reviewing critical code

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on the latest mobile technologies and trends
  • Drive adoption of tools and practices that improve speed, quality, or maintainability

Hiring & Onboarding

  • Participate in recruitment, technical interviews, and onboarding of new mobile developers

Candidate Profile:

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of professional experience in mobile development
  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with React Native
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and ES6+ features
  • Experience in building and scaling production mobile apps for both Android and iOS

Technical Skills

  • Solid knowledge of state management libraries (e.g. Redux, MobX)
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming
  • Understanding of mobile UI/UX best practices and design principles
  • Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing (e.g. Jest, RN Testing Library)
  • Familiarity with crash reporting and analytics tools (e.g. Crashlytics, Firebase Analytics)
  • Comfortable with local storage solutions like SQLite or Realm

Soft Skills

  • Strong debugging and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Technically curious, hands-on, and passionate about clean, scalable code

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with native development (Swift/Objective-C, Kotlin/Java)
  • Familiarity with GraphQL and backend tools like Firebase or AWS Amplify
  • Contributions to open-source or developer community initiatives
  • Knowledge of performance optimization techniques
