We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Lead Backend Engineer to drive backend architecture and guide a team of talented engineers. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical skills with leadership experience to build high-performance, scalable backend systems.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 5–6 backend engineers, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices and timely delivery.
• Develop scalable backend systems using TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS.
• Design and optimize data models and queries in PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Apply advanced knowledge of Elasticsearch for search functionality and analytics.
• Work with Amazon Neptune and Gremlin for graph-based data modeling and querying.
• Perform code reviews and maintain coding standards across the team.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and designers to ensure end-to-end feature delivery.
• Track progress, manage timelines, and ensure efficient use of team resources.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of backend development experience, including recent leadership responsibilities.
• Strong hands-on expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Practical experience with Elasticsearch, Neptune, and Gremlin.
• Proven track record of leading engineering teams and delivering complex backend projects.
• Strong problem-solving ability with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional environments.
• Experience working in fast-paced, agile teams.
• Open-source contributions or a solid GitHub portfolio is a plus.
