This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr. Lead Software Engineer, Back End/SRE - Shopping (Remote-Eligible) in the United States.

The Sr. Lead Software Engineer will play a critical role in building and optimizing scalable, high-performance systems to support a rapidly growing customer base. This position focuses on backend engineering and site reliability, ensuring robust, secure, and efficient services. The role involves designing distributed microservices, improving reliability, performance, and observability, and guiding the implementation of best practices across multiple codebases. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, mentors team members, and leverages cloud technologies to deliver innovative solutions that directly impact customer experience and business outcomes.

Accountabilities

·         Lead backend and site reliability engineering initiatives for high-traffic, distributed systems.

·         Design, implement, and optimize scalable microservices to meet performance, reliability, and security goals.

·         Improve visibility into business-critical transactions, guide SLO creation, and manage error budgets.

·         Contribute to multiple codebases to enhance performance, compliance, and revenue-impacting services.

·         Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver cloud-based solutions that support millions of users.

·         Mentor and share knowledge with engineering teams, participate in code reviews, and evaluate emerging technologies.

·         Maintain and improve system observability, automation, and operational processes.

Requirements

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field. Master’s preferred.

·         6+ years of professional software engineering experience; 9+ years preferred in Node.js, Go, or Python.

·         At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud); 3+ years preferred.

·         3+ years of experience with internet-scale microservices, including security and performance tuning.

·         Experience on-call for high-traffic systems and managing reliability for production services.

·         Strong problem-solving, coding, and system architecture skills with a focus on distributed systems.

·         Excellent collaboration, communication, and mentorship skills.
