We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented WLAN Test Engineer to join our engineering and product validation team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, validating, and ensuring the robustness and performance of wireless LAN features across enterprise-grade networking products. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and QA teams to design test strategies, execute automated and manual test cases, and deliver high-quality releases that meet stringent performance, security, and reliability standards.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans for WLAN functionalities including connectivity, roaming, throughput, performance, security, and interoperability.
  • Validate 802.1X authentication workflows, including EAP methods, RADIUS server interactions, certificate-based authentication, and policy enforcement.
  • Test WPA/WPA2/WPA3 security mechanisms, ensuring compliance, robustness, and resistance to attacks or configuration errors.
  • Build Python-based automation frameworks and scripts for test case execution, log parsing, and scenario simulation to improve regression coverage and reduce manual effort.
  • Perform debugging and root-cause analysis by working directly with firmware, network protocols, and traffic logs.
  • Use industry-standard tools such as Wireshark, packet captures, traffic generators, and wireless analyzers to monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and validate protocol behaviors.
  • Conduct interoperability testing with multi-vendor access points, controllers, clients, and authentication servers.
  • Partner with development teams during design and feature review cycles to provide test input and ensure quality in early stages.
  • Document test cases, test results, defect reports, release readiness assessments, and validation summaries.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous testing pipelines, contributing to automated regression suites and stability metrics.
  • Ensure WLAN features meet compliance, certification, and performance benchmarks, including security, mobility, latency, and power-saving requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience working in WLAN testing, network validation, or wireless QA.
  • Strong understanding of WLAN standards (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax), RF concepts, channel behavior, and wireless security protocols.
  • Proven expertise in 802.1X authentication, RADIUS flows, EAP types, certificate handling, and secure onboarding.
  • Practical experience validating WPA/WPA2/WPA3 security frameworks and policies.
  • Solid programming experience in Python, including automation scripting, test framework development, and log analysis.
  • Familiarity with Wireshark, tcpdump, traffic generators (Ixia/Spirent), AP/controller platforms, and wireless debugging tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues across layers 1–7.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down issues and drive them to closure.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related technical field.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Linux environments, scripting, and networking tools.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD systems, Jenkins, or automated test orchestration.
  • Exposure to cloud-managed Wi-Fi solutions or enterprise networking environments.
