As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering scalable software solutions for enterprise clients. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into robust technical implementations. This role emphasizes modern agile practices, including test-driven development, pair programming, and continuous integration/deployment, to ensure high-quality and maintainable code. You will also provide mentorship to team members, advocate for best practices, and contribute to improving overall delivery capabilities. The position offers the opportunity to work on complex distributed systems, participate in production support, and influence technical strategies within diverse, global teams. Your contributions will directly impact client satisfaction and the success of critical software projects.

Accountabilities:

• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to determine system requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Develop and maintain software using agile practices such as pair programming, TDD, and CI/CD.
• Automate system infrastructure and deployment processes to ensure operational efficiency.
• Provide production support for systems you build, adhering to a “you build it, you run it” philosophy.
• Mentor client and team members to improve technical skills and delivery practices.
• Advocate for agile and technical best practices within client organizations.
• Contribute to enhancing team performance and overall software delivery capabilities.

Requirements

• Extensive experience developing, maintaining, and operating enterprise-scale distributed systems.
• Expert knowledge in one primary programming language with strong tooling experience; familiarity with additional languages is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing and test-driven development.
• Strong understanding of agile principles and practical approaches to implementing them in diverse contexts.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with remote, globally distributed teams.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively towards shared goals.
• Nice to have: experience with microservices, RESTful services, containerized/cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
