This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Power Systems Engineer II in the United States.

As a Power Systems Engineer II, you will play a critical role in designing, analyzing, and optimizing electrical power systems for a variety of projects. You will lead small to medium teams and independently manage technical aspects of projects, including power distribution, short circuit evaluations, protective device coordination, and arc flash hazard analysis. This role provides an opportunity to apply deep knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and other national standards while mentoring team members and contributing directly to client communications. You will work in a collaborative and people-first environment, tackling challenging engineering problems and ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet client and regulatory requirements.

Accountabilities

  • Lead small project teams (1-5 staff) or manage portions of larger projects, solving most design challenges independently.
  • Conduct power systems studies, including short circuit evaluations, protective device coordination, and arc flash analysis with minimal oversight.
  • Review equipment submittals and provide technical guidance to ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and other national standards.
  • Develop construction documents, collaborate with other engineers, and maintain high-quality project deliverables.
  • Establish project budgets, manage financial success of projects, and communicate effectively with clients and vendors.
  • Mentor team members on technical standards, drafting techniques, and design best practices.
  • Serve as Engineer of Record on approved projects, as applicable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in up to 5 states.
  • 0–5 staff management experience, with ability to lead small teams.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit, SKM Systems Analysis, and power systems design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations (NEC, NFPA 70E).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical discussions with internal teams, clients, and vendors.
