Role Summary
As a Commercial Analytics Associate, you will work closely with the Head of Commercial Analytics and collaborate with the broader Commercial team to drive key strategic initiatives. You will have the chance to develop and implement analytical models that influence major business decisions and projects. This role offers a hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of international shipping and maritime investments, allowing you to contribute directly to Union Maritime's continued growth and success.
Key Responsibilities
As a Commercial Analytics Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting and enhancing the Commercial team's strategic efforts by:
• Preparing financial models and conducting in-depth analysis to evaluate various high-stakes transactions, including:
o Vessel sales and purchases
o Equity raises
o Profit-sharing agreements
o Vessel financing and refinancing
o Investment in new maritime technologies
• Managing and coordinating various commercial projects to ensure timely and efficient execution
• Reviewing and negotiating term sheets related to commercial, investment and financing projects, ensuring that all terms align with the company’s strategic objectives
• Preparing presentations for both corporate and project-related initiatives, tailored to different stakeholders
• Maintaining comprehensive records for market research and business intelligence purposes, ensuring access to up-to-date data for decision-making
• Facilitating communication between departments to ensure smooth project flow and alignment across teams
• Managing and mentoring Commercial Analysts, fostering their growth and development within the team
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will need to demonstrate a high level of analytical ability, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive mindset. Success in this role will depend on your ability to manage complex, high-pressure situations while remaining organized and effective. Key skills and attributes include:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• Exceptional MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills to analyze data and create impactful presentations
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights
• Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all analytical outputs
• A can-do, solution-oriented attitude, with a passion for tackling challenges and driving results
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively to internal and external stakeholders
• Proven ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong work ethic and respect for confidentiality, understanding the sensitive nature of the projects you'll handle
• Leadership potential, with a desire to mentor and guide junior team members
