Senior Control Systems Engineer

📍 Location: Sugar Land, TX
💰 Salary: $160,000 – $180,000 per year

Our client is seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer to lead automation and controls engineering projects. This role requires deep expertise in control systems configuration, DCS/PLC development, and field instrumentation. What You’ll Be Doing:

• Leading control system design, configuration, and testing
• Developing and optimizing PLC/DCS systems, HMI graphics, and control narratives
• Reverse engineering obsolete control logic and creating documentation
• Ensuring safety, compliance, and quality control in all automation projects
• Working closely with clients to understand and address project needs
• Supporting loop checks, FAT/SAT execution, startup, and commissioning

Requirements

What They’re Looking For:

✅ Required Skills:

• 10+ years of experience in control systems engineering & automation
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
• Rockwell / Allen Bradley expertise, including programming & HMI graphics
• Strong P&ID development and PLC/DCS enclosure layout knowledge
• Proven experience in lead engineering roles & managing multiple projects

✅ Bonus Skills (Preferred):

• Plant PAX & Batch system knowledge
• Experience with legacy system upgrades & reverse engineering
• Strong technical writing & documentation skills
