Specific Working Conditions:
Working Environment
Contractors are expected to conduct work mainly remotely, with occasional requirement to work on site at the NCI Agency Belgium location (Braine-l'Alleud) for a couple of days per month (maximum 1 week per month), in coordination with the EBA System Management Team and to be able to leverage the expertise available from Key Users.
Travel requirements
Occasional requirement to work on site at the NCI Agency Belgium location (Braine-l'Alleud, Brussels or The Hague) for a couple of days per month (maximum 1 week per month). Travel expenses should be included in the rate.
Purchaser-furnished property and services
Contractor will receive REACH laptop and services. The Contractor must plan to pick-up the laptop in person at Braine l'Alleud or The Hague.
Daily Direction and Evaluation
The BI Service Delivery Manager (or delegate) will be providing daily direction. Timesheets, signed by the BI Service Delivery Manager (or delegate) shall be submitted by the Contractor with the invoice. The BI Service Delivery Manager shall evaluate the performance of the Contractor.
Hours of Operation
Normal working hours for the place of employment are as follows:
Monday to Thursday 8.30 – 17.30 and Friday 8.30 – 15.30 – contractors having a 38 hours workweek.
Duties & Role:
Under the general direction of the BI Service Delivery Manager and Technical Lead, the incumbent will perform duties such as the following functions:
Power BI Integration:
• Proficiently manage Power BI Report Server and Power BI Desktop proficient, including setup, configuration and optimization;
• Write SQL and integrate various data sources (including Oracle) in Power BI;
• Develop and publish interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI;
• Create and maintain data models in Power BI;
• Utilize DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for advanced data analysis and calculations;
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and security within the Power BI environment;
• Troubleshoot activities and resolve issues related to Power BI Report Server and Power BI Desktop.
Oracle Expertise:
• Identify data objects from OBIA data warehouses and data marts;
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes;
• Troubleshoot and resolve OBIA-related issues;
• Integrate data from multiple sources, including flat files, APIs, and other databases, into Oracle Data Base;
• Write SQL and optimize database queries, ODI mappings, and ETL processes for performance and scalability (including OBIA);
• Stay current with the latest OBIA best practices and technologies.
Consulting & Project Management:
• Conduct data analysis and requirements gathering sessions with clients;
• Provide expert consultation on data warehousing, business intelligence, and data visualization best practices;
• Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders;
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
