Who are we looking for?

A Senior Full-stack Developer, who knows modern Javascript/Typescript frameworks like the back of their hand. While you’re experienced in both frontend and backend, you show especially deep knowledge of the server-side application logic. 

You understand the complexity of building a commerce solution. It is not just about building a nice looking page, it involves performance, user experience, account management, order management, customer service and data insights. You will act as a liaison and trusted person to our clients and think with them on how to solve the technical challenges at hand.

As a senior developer, you also act as a go-to person to the less experienced people in our team and proactively engage in knowledge-sharing initiatives. You can work independently, but you know that working in a team is more fun and makes us achieve the best results.

What you will do:

You will work on various headless commerce projects, interactive client portals and nice branding sites. Some examples of your tasks:

• Integration of Payment Gateways
• Handling Order Fulfillment
• Building and enhancing checkouts
• Monitoring and improving the shopping experience
• Thinking along with business to create an optimal user experience for the users of the Commerce System(s)

Our stack is mainly React/Next.js and Node.js, often in combination with headless solutions such as ContentStack, StoryBlok, BigCommerce and Commerce Layer.

You will focus on delivering quality products, enforcing standardisation while working together with the PM to advise the client. Your impact goes beyond code, you guide the team (including the client) towards the right direction/goals, explaining your advice and steering the project’s choices in a way the client can understand. Finally, you will help the sales team with your expertise in making technical estimates.

What you bring:

Please note, for this role we have a preference for Dutch-native speakers, but locally-based experienced developers will also be considered.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience, including in a project company;
• Know your way around writing serverless code using a cloud provider such as Azure or AWS;
• Strong problem-solving & critical thinking skills;
• Your main stack: Typescript and frameworks such as Node.js, React and Next.js;
• You know and apply SOLID principles & Design patterns in your work;
• Familiar with Composable/API-architecture;
• Skilled at making (and explaining) project documents like architecture diagrams and roadmaps;
• Understand the value of automated testing/TTD in big scale projects;
• Preferably experienced with commerce systems like Commercetools; and headless systems such as ContentStack, Contentful, StoryBlok or similar;
• Previous experience with Terraform is a plus;
• Used to work in a structured and project-based manner;
• You’ve previously coached other less experienced colleagues;
• Great social and communication skills;
• Proactive mentality, open-minded and a team-player attitude;
• Dutch native speaker and/or based in NL for a substantial period of time.
