We’re seeking a PLM Solution Architect to join our rapidly growing team. Reporting to our Director of Digital Engineering, you will be responsible for working with the business functions to understand their requirements and information flows, document the findings and translate into a future state strategy with the enterprise selected solutions.


The PLM Solution Architect is responsible for leading the design, architecture, and implementation of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solutions within an organization. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure that PLM systems are aligned with business needs, improve product development processes, and ensure data integrity across the entire product lifecycle.

 

This pivotal role will operate in a hybrid capacity from our planned Bicester location and Leamington Spa. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside some of the most visionary minds in the automotive field.

What you’ll do

·        Lead the design and architecture of PLM solutions based on business requirements and technical specifications.

·        Define system integration points between PLM and other enterprise systems such as ERP, CRM, MES, and CAD tools.

·        Create scalable, flexible, and sustainable solutions that meet current and future business needs.

·        Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document functional and technical requirements.

·        Analyse business processes, workflows, and system capabilities to recommend improvements and optimise the PLM ecosystem.

·        Manage the implementation of PLM solutions, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budget, and quality standards.

·        Oversee data migration, system integration, and testing to ensure that the PLM system meets the business requirements.

·        Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting during and after deployment to ensure smooth operation.

·        Guide the configuration of the PLM software to meet the unique needs of the business.

·        Work with vendors to maintain off-the-shelf PLM solutions, or work with software vendors to enhance the core product to answer the business needs.

·        Lead a cross-functional team of developers, business analysts, and subject matter experts in implementing PLM solutions.

·        Ensure that PLM systems are built with industry best practices in mind, especially in areas of security, scalability, and performance.

·        Design and implement integrations between PLM and other enterprise systems (ERP, MES, CRM, etc.) to enable seamless data flow across systems.

·        Ensure the PLM system integrates with various tools, ensuring that product data is synchronised across engineering, manufacturing, and other departments.

·        Act as a liaison between business teams and IT departments to ensure alignment of PLM systems with business goals.

·        Prepare presentations, system documentation, and reports for executive leadership, stakeholders, and other business users.

·        Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in PLM technologies and methodologies.

·        Continuously assess and improve PLM processes and workflows, driving efficiency and innovation across the product lifecycle.

·        Recommend and implement enhancements to existing PLM systems and processes

·        Identify potential risks associated with PLM solutions, including security, compliance, and data integrity risks.

·        Ensure PLM systems meet regulatory standards and industry best practices (e.g., ISO, GDPR, etc.).

·        Experience: At least 8-10 years of experience in designing and implementing PLM solutions, with significant experience in the automotive or a related industry.
